Required texts: Subscription to one literary magazine from approved list Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition The CopyeditorвЂ™s Handbook, fourth edition, and The CopyeditorвЂ™s Workbook. Editors assign work to EcotoneвЂ™s readers each week, review reader comments, and ensure that submission responses are sent. They also contribute ideas for special features and issue themes nominate work from the magazine for awards and anthologies and help draft and implement promotion plans. They practice the craft of editing, and work closely with the editor on drafting editorial correspondence and marking edits and queries.

Editors read and solicit manuscripts, recommend work for discussion by the editorial team, lead discussions of work, and perform top edits and lead edits. EcotoneвЂ™s section-editor positions function as apprenticeships in literary editing. For the academic year 2021-2022, ChautauquaВ will be publishing three shorter online issues. Graduate students work as leaders to set the agenda for work modules and mentor undergraduate students with projects addressing editing, sales/marketing, and art/design. Most of our work is done in teams-with each group presenting regular updates. Students interested in developmental editing will be able to identify a potential project and work directly with a writer. Members of the Chautauqua team read and respond to submissions, work on editing projects, search for possible cover art, and assist with design work. This partnership brings a variety of opportunities for UNCW. Our magazine is unique in that it bridges the UNCW Department of Creative Writing and Chautauqua Institution, an arts-based community in Chautauqua, NY. This course is designed to give students a practical magazine publishing experience. We especially seek to promote work by new authors and those from marginalized communities. Glassworks publishes literary work from both emerging and established writers from across North America and around the world. Glassworks is a publication of the MA in Writing program at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, founded as 'GlassWorks in the Woods' in 1779. Each May we host Boldface: A Conference for Emerging Writers, at the University of Houston. We feature work by emerging writers only-not writers who have attended graduate courses in creative writing. We publish an online journal, twice annually. Glass Mountain, an international student-run literary magazine, accepts submissions all year.

Each year, we publish one print issue and one online issue, and hold an annual contest in prose and poetry, judged by two nationally recognized writers. Managed and edited entirely by University of Idaho graduate students, Fugue biannually publishes poetry, fiction, essays, and visual-text hybrids from established and emerging writers. We have published the usual suspects (Spires, Fenza, Campbell, etc.) but the ones who excite us are the emerging ones. We favor вЂњtotally limited omniscience.вЂќ In addition to traditional genres, we have several beats which re-appear in each issue. We're interested in all forms of the essay: personal, nature, environmental, graphic, lyric, travel, cultural, political, occasional, traditional, and pretty much anything else that plays with the long tradition of the nonfiction essay.ДЇree State Review is a biannual print journal. Published twice annually by Michigan State University Press, Fourth Genre is a literary journal that explores the boundaries of contemporary literary nonfiction.
